Sounds Like Now

If you ride the way you did at Mt. Joy you should do well. Remember to sit in and wait for the move and then bridge to it and help work it. On the hills sit in as much as possible until later and if something goes, go with it. You have excellent power/weight while climbing. Don’t show your cards.
You know how you just rode away from people on the climb, slow it down and toy with them. Nothing like trying to hang on a guys wheel who can just go a little faster than you. Breaks my mind when a guy slowly increases tempo. When you go shooting off I think have fun I will ride my own pace. But when you are just a little faster i end up blowing up just trying to keep up. Keep that in mind.
Also at MT joy about ol’ yeller. What i meant was trying the move we did on the 4th lap. It would have come down to 8 of us together with him doing most of the pulling. haha. I would probably would have done the same.
Good luck.
Not that I know anything about Battenkill, but from what I’ve read and heard, you want to be close to the front when you hit the first few hills so you don’t get stuck behind some backward riding fatso. Dieter Drake said to pre-ride the first 15 and last 20 miles of the course. Good luck.
Thanks for the comments and good wishes, guys. I’m really psyched about the course. For me, the harder the course, especially in the climbing department, the better. There’ll be a lot of attrition involved. But you’re definitely right, Greg, being at the front is going to be key. In fact a huge key moment happens at kilometer 10 going through a narrow covered bridge followed by a sharp turn before hitting a 400m wall. Have to be up front for that. The race is going to split viciously there. I feel like the next key point is just after the 2nd feed zone at mile 42. Several leg-breaking climbs after that. Stay tuned for the report.
