For the cat with no name. I was considering “Macy Gray” but don’t want our cat to carry the baggage of being a one-hit wonder throughout her life. Any suggestions?

Why not K. 30 (short for Kirkpatrick 30, the catalog number of Scarlatti’s “Cat’s Fugue”) for your inner musicology nerd?

She’s gorgeous! Willa Cather? ;-)

It’s got to be Ruby. I’ve been trying to convince various friends to give their daughters that name but have not had much luck so far. Bunch of weirdos, my friends. Perhaps this cat will afford me my first taste of sweet success?

PS The Tuesday bit is optional.

I have never been able to hear lyrics/text very well. (I know I’m not alone on this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLd22ha_-VU). While still in diapers, for example, my young ears turned the traditional “jimmy crack corn” into “kitty cat ko, and I don’t care.” This in turn, became the name of one of my first cats; kitty, for short.

With this in mind, perhaps one could take a youthful look at naming your new cat. Upon looking at Derek Hurst’s Bacchanalia Skiapodorum, which Brian premiered, one could imagine a murderous but innocent pronunciation as: poppa nani-ski-uh-podo-rum; poppa nani, for short.

hmm…perhaps it’s best for me not to name your cat.

Sweet! you can name her after me, just use the girl spelling of my name (joelle). or here are other suggestions: Princess Leia, Cleopatra Schwartz, Sacajowia, Meowface, Chester… These probably aren’t helpful…
